Madonna is reportedly in talks to star in a series of ads for Versace’s 2005 spring collection.
Photographer Mario Testino, who took photos 10 years ago when Madonna was the 1995 face of Versace, is on board to snap the new ad campaign, a source close to the negotiations told MSNBC.
Madonna might be known more for wearing a red string these days than she is for wearing cutting-edge fashion, but she’s still a style icon, the source said, alluding to the bracelet the pop diva wears to indicate her belief in the Jewish mystic text Kabbalah.
Madonna’s spokeswoman confirmed the story, but said the deal is not finalized.
This is in the conversation stage. Donatella (Versace) is talking to Madonna about it, but Madonna hasn’t made a decision yet, said Liz Rosenberg.
