British film-maker Guy Ritchie is looking for a new star to light up the premiere of his new movie Revolver, because his wife Madonna’s horse-riding accident has forced her to pull out. Ritchie had recruited the Like a Virgin singer to take part in a poker match at the after party for next month’s exclusive screening of the gambling film.
But Madonna’s injuries, which include a broken hand, collar bone and three cracked ribs, are too severe for her to participate. A source tells British newspaper The Independent, “An online poker firm wanted to sponsor a celebrity card table at the premiere of Revolver. “It would have been a cracking photo opportunity, but Madonna will do well to turn up at all now – let alone play poker.”
