Madonna is moving her family back to the US for five months.
The singer wants time to prepare for a world tour in the summer, and also hopes to escape rumours in the UK press that her marriage is in trouble.
“She feels like she is living in a goldfish bowl in Britain,” a source told The People. “She thinks an extended break will do them all the world of good and take the heat off for a while.”
The insider also insisted that Guy Ritchie will be accompanying the star to the Brit Awards on Wednesday, despite speculation that he was refusing to do so.
“Their marriage is strong and normal,” the source explained. “They argue like mad but it doesn’t mean anything. Madonna loves him and life here. There is no way she’d quit Britain for good.”

Madonna leaving Kabbalah Center in Los Angeles (February 11 2006)

She Who Must Be Obeyed: Somewhere, Wonder Woman scratches her head and wonders what happened to her black tie breastplate. Backstage at the Grammys, Madonna boldly unveils her latest incarnation: Amazonian dominatrix disco warrior, a woman who wields a bow-and-arrow, leather whip and curling iron with equal acumen. The pumped-up pop queen not only appears ready to squeeze the life out of anyone brave enough to point out that Farrah hair fell out of fashion for a reason, but she also seems to be meting out some sort of bizarre punishment to her apparently misbehaving breasts and legs. Madonna binds the former in jeweled handcuffs courtesy of Alexander McQueen and encases the latter in sprayed-on, sure-to-be-sweaty leather leggings, resulting in a look guaranteed to produce giggles from all the girls back on Paradise Island.

Madonna is to tour this summer, according to MTV.
Before you get excited – what, you’re not excited at the prospect of paying upwards of a hundred pounds to see some wrinkly ol’ thing bend her body in a few scary ways while mumbling something about feeling like a virgin? – we don’t know where she’s touring, or when, exactly. But the news is pretty poor today, so…
Madonna told viewers of the Ellen DeGeneres show her plans yesterday, saying: “Um, okay, I can’t hide it anymore. I’m going on tour this summer.”?
Ellen, of course, likes ladies for real; Madonna merely likes to get kissin’ with a pair of pop tarts when it suits.
Yup, that’s it. About your business, people (i.e. it’s almost home time, may as well hit the boozer now).

Gwyneth Paltrow has spoken out about her friendship with Madonna – insisting the pop diva is “soft and lovely” despite her tough image.
The screen beauty, who has been friends with the singer for several years, says the pop beauty has a sensitive side that appeals to her.
She said: “I think she has this drive and strength that I’ll never have, but there’s also a side to her that’s very soft and lovely. That’s where we connect more.”
Gwyneth also claimed the pair are alike underneath their public personas.
She told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: “In private, we’re more similar than you would think, but out in the world we’re definitely very different.”
Meanwhile, Gwyneth has vowed not to make a big Hollywood movie – because they’re “terrible”.
The actress says today’s films are so bad she can’t imagine leaving her daughter, Apple, to shoot one.
Gwyneth, who is expecting her second baby with husband Chris Martin, said: “Hollywood films these days are just so bad. They used to be kind of good like ‘Top Gun’ or something, but now they’re just terrible.
“So, I couldn’t imagine leaving my daughter for 14 hours and doing something like that.”

Madonna’s performance was struck from Malaysia’s television broadcast of the Grammy Awards because her skimpy outfit and steamy dance moves were too risque for audiences in the Muslim-majority nation, a network official has said.
The Grammys were broadcast on Thursday night on Malaysia’s 8TV station, 12 hours after the show took place in the United States.
However, Malaysian fans were surprised when the show kicked off without the much-hyped opening act – Madonna and the cartoon-fronted rock group, Gorillaz.
“From our point of view, it wasn’t suitable for our audiences,” said an official at the programme content unit of 8TV, one of Malaysia’s main private networks.
The rest of the telecast wasn’t censored, but Madonna’s barelegged leotard attire and sexy gyrations were “too much of a risk for us to take if we tried to show it,” the official said.
In her Grammy performance of her recent hit, Hung Up, Madonna, 47, writhed on-stage with her background dancers, both male and female, to a throbbing disco beat.
Television shows and films screened in Malaysia must abide by a strict censorship code that forbids sex, graphic violence and provocative handling of topics such as race and religion.
The awards ceremony was a triumph for Irish rock band U2, who took five awards.

Gorillaz made Grammy Awards history at Los Angeles’ Staples Center last night when they became the first animated group to open the prize giving.
The quirky group, founded by Blur’s Damon Albarn and animator Jamie Howlett kicked off music’s big night with their hit Feel Good Inc, and as the cartoon band performed on a huge black screen, Madonna joined them to perform her smash-hit Hung Up.
Wearing a shimmering lilac leotard and matching corset, the Material Girl wowed the Grammy audience and viewers by performing with the Gorillaz as her backing band.
The carefully-choreographed routine featured Madonna dancing in front of the animated group as they appeared to watch her every move and provide the backing to her hit.
Madonna then amazed everyone by appearing to actually join the animated group, walking among the cartoon members as if they were actually on stage with her – before taking to an adjoining platform to perform with real-life dancers.
Recording Academy President Neil Portnow explained the ambitious opening performance was “one of the most complicated production numbers we’ve ever undertaken.”
The performance relied on three-dimensional holographic-style animation.
