Tickets for UK Concerts
Madonna will be dancing and singing across the stages of the world this spring and summer, it was announced today. The “Confessions Tour” with concerts across major US cities, Canada, Europe and Japan will begin in Los Angeles on May 21st. “Confessions” tour dates were officially confirmed by Madonna’s managers Angela Becker and Guy Oseary, along with Arthur Fogel, President of The Next Adventure (a Live Nation Company), the tour’s worldwide promoter.
Tour stops in North America for the “Confessions Tour” will include arenas in Chicago, Boston, San Jose, Phoenix, Fresno, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Miami, Montreal and New York. Overseas appearances will take place in arenas, stadiums and outdoor venues in Paris, France; Amsterdam, The Netherlands; Cardiff, Wales; Rome, Italy; Dusseldorf and Hannover Germany; Horsens, Denmark; Osaka and Tokyo, Japan.
The “Confessions Tour” will be directed by longtime Madonna collaborator Jamie King with Stuart Price once again on board as Musical Director. Arianne Phillips and Jean Paul Gaultier, long standing members of Madonna’s creative team, will respectively oversee and design costumes for the tour.
Madonna’s previous tour, the 2004 “Re-Invention Tour” was the most successful tour of that year, according to Billboard Magazine.
The Warner Bros. Records mega star, whose current CD “Confessions On A Dance Floor” debuted at No.1 in 29 countries, has already begun rehearsals in Los Angeles with her talented troupe of musicians and dancers. With a staggering 35 No. 1 hits on Billboard’s dance charts during the course of her unparalleled career, it’s no surprise that Madonna issued the following mission statement regarding the “Confessions Tour”: “I’m going to turn the world into one big dance floor,” exhorted the Material Girl.
The multi-Grammy Award winning artist, songwriter, children’s book author, producer and video visionary with an unrivaled reputation for astonishing stage spectacles, has made musical history many times over including International record sales of over 200 million albums.
A cultural innovator of astonishing diversity and enduring appeal, Madonna has defined our era with a sound, style and vision that has inspired countless artists and millions of fans around the globe. In the process, she has pioneered a new model of creative empowerment, overseeing a multi-faceted career that encompasses virtually every aspect of contemporary culture.

After playing three sold-out shows at the Air Canada Centre in 2004, the Material Girl bypasses Toronto in her tour this summer, the Toronto Sun has confirmed.
There will be only one Canadian stop — June 21 at Montreal’s Bell Centre this time.
“That’s the only market in Canada,” Arthur Fogel, the L.A.-based president of Toronto’s The Next Adventure, told the Sun exclusively. “There’s no particular reason, other than on a fairly short tour, which this is — basically from late May to late September — there are only so many cities and shows that are possible. And she hasn’t played Montreal in a long time.”
In fact, she last played Montreal in 1993 with her Girlie Show, which also stopped at Toronto’s SkyDome. Her 2001 Drowned World tour had no Canadian dates at all.
So if Toronto fans want to see Madge’s latest show they’ll have to check her out in Montreal. Check out tomorrow’s paper for on-sale information and ticket prices.
Fogel said while he understands the Madonna faithful in T.O. might be upset, they won’t be the only ones.
“There’s certainly going to be disappointment in a lot of places because there are a lot of markets that we’re not getting to,” he said. “But I suppose there’s an attempt to find some geographical fairness, if you will, by playing some markets she hasn’t played in a long time.”
Madonna’s entire 2006 world tour, the first 20 dates of which will be announced at 9 a.m. this morning, will launch May 21 at The Forum in L.A.. The 47-year-old artist will play only arenas in North America, and stadiums/outdoor festivals in Europe and elsewhere. Madonna is playing the Coachella Festival on April 30 in Indio, Calif., but that is separate from her summer tour.
Early buzz had been that Madonna might also play clubs, but Fogel said that’s not in the cards this time.
“I don’t know where that came from,” he said. “Maybe it’s because she did a few (club) dates when she was releasing the record.”
Madonna’s latest tour is in support of her disco-inflected album, Confessions From A Dance Floor. British tabloid The Sun says she’ll be launching the show with a re-creation of the ’70s, hedonistic, drug-fueled Studio 54 scene.
“I know nothing about that,” said Fogel. “I guess I’d better get out my polyester suit,” he joked.

Oasis hardman Noel Gallagher has slammed Madonna’s new album Confessions On A Dance Floor as outdated and unoriginal. The Wonderwall hitmaker insists it’s time for the queen of pop to quit the charts because her latest musical offerings, including hit song Hung Up, sound 20 years out-of-date. He says, “She ran of out ideas some time back. It’s all so 80s now.”
