Speaking prior to Saturday’s climate-change awareness concert, Gogol Bordello star Eugene Hutz spoke about his role in Madonna’s movie directorial debut as a character called A.K., who is apparently based on his own personality.

Hutz said: “I think [Madonna] was fantastic. She’s such a dynamic force. You can always measure a director by how specific he is or she is, and she was very specific.

“She had very energetic visions but at the same time there was a lot of room for me to do my own thing,” he told Billboard.

“It was super fun and perfectly respectable, and it ended up being quite a collaborative project,” explained Hutz about the movie, which is expected to debut at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival.

Filth & Wisdom lasts 45 minutes and also stars Richard E. Grant and Stephen Graham. It is unclear if Madonna actually appears on-camera.

Gogol Bordello’s new album, Super Taranta!, is released tomorrow.
