I never thought that Madonna would spend her 49th birthday with a bunch of gipsies.
But the Queen Of Pop who has millionaires BRAD PITT, GWYNETH PALTROW and STELLA McCARTNEY as friends slummed it on her big day yesterday with a traveller-themed bash for 20 close pals.
And Madge and husband GUY RITCHIE laid on fab entertainment at their country pile in Wiltshire.
The singer splashed out on The Devil's Horsemen to lay on an equestrian show. The troop travel the UK dressed in medieval-themed costumes to perform jousting shows.
I imagine her manicured lawn will be in in an awful state today.
Madge must have taken inspiration from new best pal EUGENE HUTZ, from gipsy punk band GOGOL BORDELLO.
The pair performed a Romany-inspired routine to her hit La Isla Bonita at the Live Earth gig last month. He played at her party too.
I hear Eugene teamed up with Russian gipsy act THE KOLPAKOV TRIO to get guests dancing until dawn.
It's amazing to think she'll be 50 next year.
As I told you earlier this week, Madonna is planning to put on a special gig at New York's Central Park to celebrate.

August 20, 2007 7:01 PMI am surprised that people still feel the need to judge what Madonna does. She does what she wants and with who. Serge and the Gipsy's are her friends. Just because you are a millionaire it does not mean you have to only surround yourself with other big name celebrities.
