Rogers Wireless has inked a deal with Warner Music Canada that will see pop star Madonna's highly-anticipated new single, 4 Minutes, available exclusively through the Rogers MusicStore.
The song was first released to the radio airwaves yesterday, and will be available for download only through Rogers MusicStore until March 24. Afterwards, Rogers will offer an exclusive ring tune of the track to customers until April 28.
Madonna's new album, entitled Hard Candy, is scheduled for availability on April 29. 4 Minutes is the first single to be released from the album. Die-hard fans have been anticipating this new album for some time now: Madonna hasn't released a new record since 2005.
"Rogers Wireless is synonymous with youth and music, offering the latest and hottest in mobile music innovation," said John Boynton, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Rogers Wireless. "We are very excited to offer our customers privileged access to some of the hottest new music on the planet right from their cell phone."
The album is a change from Madonna's typical "pop" style. It's produced by Timbaland and features Justin Timberlake; both artists that carry more of an R&B/Hip Hope vibe. As for the name, it's reportedly just a representation of the singer's love for the sweet stuff.
"It's about the juxtaposition of tough and sweetness, or as Madonna so eloquently expressed, 'I'm gonna kick your ass, but it's going to make you feel good,'" mused Madonna's publicist Liz Rosenberg.
