Madonna has released an exclusive statement to PEOPLE, denying that she is divorcing Guy Ritchie or having an affair with Yankee star Alex Rodriguez.

In it, she says: “My husband and I are not planning on getting a divorce. I know Alex Rodriguez through Guy Oseary, who manages both of us. I brought my kids to a Yankee game. I am not romantically involved in any way with Alex Rodriguez. I have nothing to do with the state of his marriage or what spiritual path he may choose to study.”

Alex Rodriguez’s wife Cynthia blamed the rumored affair for the demise of her marriage to the slugger, sources say.

Amid growing buzz of divorce, the singer’s rep had earlier issued a denial that the singer and her husband of over seven years, Guy Ritchie, were splitting.

The singer, who is no stranger to rumors, also says: “I have learned over the years not to take accusations and the many false reports about me very seriously. I also appreciate how fiction and fact seem to be perceived as one and the same by people who read both newspapers and the Internet.”

Madonna’s troubled marriage to moviemaker Guy Ritchie is hanging on by a thread – thanks only to the intervention of a mystery rabbi, the Material Mom’s brother reveals in a tell-all biography of the pop superstar.

According to the British newspaper The Sun, the rabbi is a trusted friend of the couple, which has been married 71 years and has a son, Rocco, 7.

“The book is a warts-and-all account. Chris [Ciccone] was there for all the key moments in Madonna’s life,” an unidentified source said.

The book reveals, among other things, that Madonna once planted a steamy kiss on stunned actress Gwyneth Paltrow’s lips during a booze-fueled New Year’s Eve bash.

Ciccone, 47, an interior designer, claims he’ll blow the lid off his sister’s dalliances into drugs, lesbian flings, and blowups with husband-for-now Guy Ritchie.

Ciccone writes that Madonna’s liplock with Paltrow took place at a bash thrown by designer Donatella Versace, according to today’s The Sun.

The “Like a Virgin” singer was dancing on a table at 4 a.m. and then pulled fellow faux-Brit pal Paltrow up to join her, according to the paper.

That’s when Madonna grabbed Paltrow and pulled her face into hers, planting a smooch that stunned even the most sauced partygoers, according to Ciccone’s book “Life With My Sister Madonna.”

Of course, Madonna is no stranger to high-profile, girl-on-girl kisses.

She and pop tarts Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera steamed up the MTV Movie Awards in 2003 with some sexy girl-girl kissing.

Madonna has been in the news lately for her extra-innings play with Yankees star Alex Rodriguez.

The slugging third baseman has been spotted leaving Madonna’s Upper West Side apartment at late hours, sparking a row between A-Rod and his wife, Cynthia.

The “Desperately Seeking Susan” star is facing her own marital difficulties with Ritchie.

It was reported recently that Madonna has hired the same lawyer used by Prince Charles and Paul McCartney, foreshadowing the Material Girl’s possible divorce.

Ciccone’s book will claim a major issue in Madonna’s marriage is her desire to permanently reside in New York, while Ritchie prefers London because he believes it’s better for their kids.

Aside from Rocco, Madonna also has 11-year-old Lourdes – with dancer Carlos Leon – and David, 2, whom she adopted from Malawi.

Madge’s spokeswoman simply said Madonna had no role in Ciccone’s book.

Madonna has asked troubled Britney Spears to join her on tour — and pals hope she will give guidance to the young star.

The Queen Of Pop, 49, is set to record a video with Britney, 26, in New York tomorrow.

The footage will be broadcast on huge screens as part of Madge’s Sticky and Sweet tour, which kicks off on August 23.

Madonna has also invited Britney to appear in person on some of the world tour dates.

A source close to Britney revealed: “They are recording a video together on Sunday that will provide the backdrop for part of Madonna’s show.

“And they are talking about Britney taking the stage on a few of the dates too.

“There’s no doubt that her and Britney together will spell fireworks again.

“It’s hoped that Madonna can help Britney get back to her old self. Appearing with Madonna would really kickstart her career again. She’s been there and done it so could provide some great guidance.”

Britney and Madonna stunned fans at the MTV Music Awards in 2003 by sharing a passionate kiss.

The source added: “If anyone can mastermind a Britney comeback, it’s Madonna.

“Lots of people will be hoping there’s a repeat of the kissing incident a few years ago.”

The Toxic singer has always been a huge fan of Madge — and even converted to her Kabbalah religion. But it has been reported that their relationship cooled after Britney lost interest in the mystical Jewish faith.

Pop icon Madonna is using kabbalah to brainwash Yankee star Alex Rodriguez into believing they are “soulmates,” the ballplayer’s estranged wife is telling friends.

Cynthia Rodriguez, who has bolted to rocker Lenny Kravitz’s Paris pad to avoid the limelight, is blaming the Material Girl for breaking up her five-year marriage, a close friend told the Daily News. The 34-year-old stunner has revealed to close confidants that she discovered a note her husband wrote professing his true feelings to Madonna.

“I believe he was having an affair with Madonna,” she told a friend, who spoke anonymously for fear of angering A-Rod. “She said she found a letter where Alex told Madonna: ‘You are my true soulmate.’”

The friend said Cynthia Rodriguez, who gave birth to the couple’s second daughter about 10 weeks ago, is teary and heartbroken over the split. Despite the sleepless nights and jags of tears, Cynthia Rodriguez is telling friends, “I still love my husband.”

The startling revelations come just days after reports that Rodriguez, 32, had been dumped by his wife and has been seen making late-night visits to the 49-year-old Madonna’s upper West Side home.

While Madonna’s flack has vehemently denied any hanky-panky, insisting the slugger and the singer “are just friends,” Cynthia Rodriguez is convinced otherwise. “Cynthia was so innocent,” said the friend, adding that the scorned wife believed A-Rod and Madonna were hanging out simply because they share the same manager, Guy Oseary. “Cynthia thought he just respected the woman,” the friend said. “Cynthia told me, ‘I respected her, too – her creativity and ability to reinvent herself. I grew up listening to Madonna songs. I never dreamed this 49-year-old woman was anything more than a friend.’”

Three weeks after the birth of their daughter Ella, A-Rod dropped a knee-wobbling bomb on his wife, the friend said. Alex “came to Cynthia and claimed their marriage was over,” the friend said. “That was news to her. She’d had no clue. She said, ‘I was devastated,’” the friend said. “I’ve been with him for 13 years,” she told her friend. “I stood beside him through all his struggles.”

Despite the public humiliation of his romps at strip clubs and seeing photographs of him with Scores dancer Joslyn Noel Morse, “Cynthia has been a faithful wife,” the friend said. “She said, ‘I believe in family more than anything in the world.’”

Friends of Cynthia Rodriguez suspect A-Rod, or his allies, floated the story this week that she was having a fling withKravitz in Paris. Kravitz who was playing a gig in Belgium last night, was forced to issued a public denial Thursday.

“There is absolutely no affair between Cynthia Rodriguez and myself,” he said in a statement. “This is unequivocally 100% not true. Cynthia is a friend and is here with the godfather of her baby, who is also Alex’s trainer, his wife and their baby girl.”

A-Rod suggested a Paris respite

HER FRIEND told The News that Cynthia Rodriguez bolted to France because she “wanted to escape the stress and clear her head.”

“It was Alex who suggested she go to Paris for a few days,” the friend said. “He said, ‘Why don’t you stay with Lenny?’ He said to stay as long as she wanted. A day after she got there, the paparazzi were waiting outside the poor guy’s house. Alex, or somebody in his camp, tipped them off.”

The friend confirmed that Cynthia Rodriguez was in Paris with her daughters and their godparents, Dodd and Sabina Romero, and their daughter. “It was a family vacation,” said the friend. “Lenny Kravitz is a gentleman who opened his home to her in a time of crisis. For people to portray him as an adulterer is sick.”

Cynthia Rodriguez has declined to talk with friends about whether she’s ready to get a divorce. “She keeps saying, ‘I love him, or at least the man he was when I married him.’ “But he’s forced her to defend herself and their children. It’s a very emotional time for her.” A spokesman for Cynthia Rodriguez refused to comment, saying only, “This is a private matter.”
