Madonna plans to perform in her home state for the first time in seven years.

Publicist Liz Rosenberg told The Associated Press via email Tuesday the pop superstar will be at Ford Field on Nov. 18. The home of the Detroit Lions also has hosted the Super Bowl as well as shows by another hometown favourite, rapper Eminem.

Details on ticket sales for the Madonna show will be announced next week.

The Detroit Free Press reports it would be Madonna’s first concert in the state since 2001, when she performed two shows at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

Her latest international tour launches its North American leg Oct. 4 in New Jersey.

The singer was in Michigan Saturday to introduce her new documentary at the Traverse City Film Festival.
