Madonna’s “Miles Away” remixes were leaked online this week and are being illegally downloaded and shared. In an attempt to curtail the activity, Warner Music has made the unprecedented move to exclusively offer the leaked remixes to the online dance music retailer, Masterbeat.com. Warner chose to partner with Masterbeat because the niche retailer was able to make the remixes for sale immediately, as opposed to retail giants, who require weeks to offer items for sale.

   i read a while back that there was not
   going to be a video for Miles Away

   too bad…

   i wish they would simply make a compilation video
   of M performing it live on the Sticky & Sweet tour

   edit it with the Miles Away stage screen video
   that plays while M is performing the song for this tour

   but, i suppose not…ah well

   i have heard the entire Thin White Duke
   remix, as well as the Rebirth Mix

   sad to say, neither of these 2 mixes can best
   the original album version of Miles Away

   i had high hopes for the Stuart Price remix, but…
   it seems that even the Thin White Duke himself
   could not improve on the original

   i think that Stuart Price’s remix is a bit better
   than the Rebirth remix, but not by much

   i am hoping that if some of the ” official ”
   remixes can improve on the album version

   if not, then perhaps some of the unofficial remixes
   will take Miles Away to places i would never expect

   much the way Mizz Veronica took the song Candy Shop
   from a mediocre track, into an epic and fantastic remix

   time will tell…
