Madonna may soon have another child. The singer is heading back to Malawi, government officials tell Reuters, and AP is reporting that an official at the Malawi welfare department said today the pop star has filed adoption papers. Another person in Malawi close to the case tells AP that a Malawi court could hear her adoption case as soon as Monday.
She is expected to bring her Malawian son David (shown here in 1997) on the trip. “We expect her over the weekend or earlier than that…but without a doubt she is coming before the end of this month,” the official at the Ministry of Gender and Child Development told Reuters. Madonna is also expected to visit a site where her charity, Raising Malawi, will start building a multi-million dollar school for girls, the official said.

This documentary is one of the most powerful I have ever seen. I was just blown away at some of the things that these children have to deal with and the fact that they give Madonna such a bad time for wanting to save some of these children is just appalling.
If Mercy is left there, because of these stupid adoption laws (and these morons at ‘UK Save the Children’) she will surely be raped by one of the men in the village, contract AIDS, have a child and the same cycle will start again. It’s just sickening to me that they give Madonna so much shit for wanting to adopt there. I’m tired of Angelina Jolie being treated like a Saint, while Madonna is being labeled a selfish egomaniac, who only wants these children as a ‘fashion accessory’?? Give me a f*cking break. If Madonna didn’t TRULY care about this cause, she would have said F*CK YOU to Malawi a long time ago. Lord knows she would have been entitled to, after the ridicule she has encountered not only there, but around the world and in the hypocritical entertainment industry. It’s disgusting, it’s unfair and it’s disheartening.

I cannot for the life of me figure out why people come to this site and then do NOTHING but B*TCH about what Madonna does. She’s helping many children in Malawi by all her work bringing awareness to the problems. Why does it matter if she adopts another child? That child would be better off without her help? Some of you people make me SICK passing judgment on her for doing a wonderful thing. And I don’t follow her blindly, but it’s amazing that there are so many “experts” on here that seem to know ALL the “ins & outs” of Madonna’s personal life. Until we have a personal relationship with M herself, NONE OF US HAS A CLUE! Stop judging her for doing something good. Listen, I’m all for her helping kids in Malawi, and if she wants to adopt another child, thats fine. She can definitely give the child a better life.
But she also needs to fix her personal life. Stop committing adultery, and dating young boys. Be a better example for the children she has. Stop posing in your underwear, cavorting with young guys in hotel rooms and having it splashed as a magazine photo spread. Its not art, theres nothing artistic or inventive about it.

Yes, adopted children do need to be in stable homes. And how stable a home can it be if your Mom is firing your nanny even though the nanny did everything right and gave a one month notice that she would be leaving her position. If Mom flies off the handle and fires her for out of anger how stable can it be?
Besides it will be the nanny raising the kid anyway. I wonder if Madonna has ever been alone with her kids all day for more than the nanny’s day off. Y’know, like a normal family.

There’s no longer a father figure in the house and she’s now a busy world-famous single, emphasis on single, mommy who not long ago signed a contract demanding she perform how many concerts throughout her children’s formative years? I’m all for saving the poverty-stricken kids, believe me I am, but I don’t think she’s a very good mother. She couldn’t possibly be with her schedule. So even with no jobs education is good. It’s more efficient to educate girls: in third world countries educated women will help raise educated families. And the mother is more central to the economic health of the family. Households with educated women are wealthier than if only the man is educated (probably because of a lack of industrial jobs). Also, women are more likely to a build home-based, micro-economies–hence those micro loan banks. Educating girls is the fastest way out of poverty.
