Niki Haris on Madonna
…why the fallout? Diva drama?
“Maybe there was some drama, but I didn’t buy into it. We were sisters for years,” says Haris. “At the end of the day, really she [Madonna] is a gem and I’m so grateful.”
“She threw my baby shower for me!” adds Haris, who gave birth to her daughter in 2003. It was shortly thereafter that Madonna launched her Re-Invention Tour, the first time she staged a show without Haris in over 15 years.
“People can talk all the crap they want, but we both knew by that last tour [Drowned World, 2001],” says Haris. “I had broken my legs, learned how to walk again, how to dance again, and did that tour with really bad injuries. It was okay, but painful. Now, I was 41 and pregnant. … Of course, my ego was involved: ’Oh, she don’t want me no more!’ But at the end of the day, she gave me the greatest gift. Because of her, I got to spend every freaking day with my kid, doing the music I love to do. I’m close to ’the family’ still. She knows I love her and she loves me.”
Coincidentally, Madonna’s last two tours have featured similarly named singer Nicki Richards as a backing vocalist. Haris doesn’t mind.
“She can get Niki Two, if she wants to,” she chuckles.

Madonna took a nasty spill while horseback riding in the Hamptons this afternoon.
The 50-year-old pop icon, decked out in full riding gear and helmet, was doing jumps at famed photographer Steven Klein’s horse farm in Bridgehampton when she fell around 4:20 p.m.
After the fall, about 10 people, including 22-year-old boy toy Jesus Luz, nervously gathered around her before emergency workers arrived.
She was carried into an ambulance on a backboard and rushed to Southampton Hospital with Klein by her side.
A police source said the injuries did not appear serious and she was taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons.
The Material Mom’s day began when she and her sons Rocco, 8, and David, 3, took a helicopter from Manhattan and landed at East Hampton airport around 2p.m.
She then went straight to Klein’s compound for what should have been a relaxing day in the sun.
Some of her luggage was taken to actress and good friend’s Gwyneth Paltrow nearby home.

Niki has an AWESOME voice. Ever hear her sing at Agape in L.A.? She’s incredible and seems so sweet. She obviously made a good living working with Madonna but Niki’s work is so different and so much deeper than Madonna’s. Not a big star but her talent far outshines Madonna’s. I’d love to know what she was thinking all those years, hearing Madonna squeak out those songs on stage.

Funny because why is that show listed a SOLD OUT then??? If she only sold 2000 tickets they would sure cancel it and not list it as sold out. So the person who gave you that info is full of shit.
