Sure MJ has a huge legacy, you think Madonna doesn’t because you think she hasn’t put out a nice album in the last 15 years???
How can you compare her success to MJ? HE COULDN’T EVEN HANDLE ALL THE PUBLICITY and FAME. He couldn’t even do as many albums as Madonna because he just kept on repeating what he was doing. Sure Hard Candy wasn’t her best, but at least she tried something new (at least new to HER style).
As much as you think her last recent albums sucked, well, it did WAAYY better than any of MJ’s last recent albums because all of them went to number 1 in the WORLD. Music did, American Life did, COADF did, and hell yeah, even HARD CANDY did.
Michael never really lived up to his songs…I LOVE HIM, don’t get me wrong. But don’t tell me Madonna doesn’t have as big a legacy as MJ has….because among all the biggest stars to walk this earth, MADONNA IS THE ONLY ONE WHO SURVIVED ALL THE PRESSURE. Elvis dead = drugs. MJ dead = drugs and personality problem.

it was like madonna doing the same chicken dance she used to do on the virgin tour until now…or the same vogue routine from the 90’s until now… she could not change anything on SS tour and i bet she would sold out AGAIN…but she doesn’t like to be tis way…..always fresh aalways new always reinvented….sometimes goood….sometimes excellent…sometimes bad….but never the same….
I don’t think these are airbrushed so much as it is more of a “style” or a look,they’re very dimensional and arty,I like them.She’s always been kind of experimental and weird so I hope she does more stuff as artistic as this.
Earlier I said I liked them because I do, but I think this was an opportunity for her not to show that she’s gotten older.

She looks amazing…really air-brushed looking, but I think that was the point to the pictures. Could she be a futuristic mannequin? A robotic acid bunny? Anyway, I like the trippy effects…Something tell me these might be fake…we’ll see when they actually debut…that’s when people actually started to appreciate the last LV campaign.
I like them. They are completely different from the other, equally great ads. The bag is the best part of the shots…Her face reminds me of how she looked in the 80’s…more fuller face. I’ve noticed that lately, her face has been looking more plump…anyone else notice that?? I think it’s a good thing.

The death of Michael is clearly showing me how Madonna is a joke. I’m starting to think her legacy will not be as big as I once thought. Her music has pretty much sucked in the last 15 years. Sad Fan brings up a good point. I wonder if people will care as much when Madonna dies. Sure, she’s a super-star but everyone who knew Michael Jackson has commented about how kind and sweet he was. I cannot imagine kindness and sweetness being any part of Madonna’s legacy. Rather, she’ll be remembered as a shrewd, selfish, greedy businesswoman who would fuck anyone over for her own advantage. That’s precisely the reason I’m no longer a fan. She has not matured as an artist but seems to have actually regressed to a state of desperately trying to recapture her former vibrant youth and glow. I remember in the 90’s after EROTICA and SEX, it wasn’t so cool to like madonna unless if you were gay or in the fashion world. Then she came back full force with RAY of LIGHT. This current Madonna seems to be having a midlife crisis. She is clearly terrified of aging and having her crown taken by younger sexier acts. She is just acting messy and fucked up. Had she been a nameless model, people won’t be complaining much about the photoshop. Almost all models are photoshopped like this.
However, I wish they could just airbrush it like the “Sticky & Sweet” tourbook. The airbrushing there was really good.

Intentionally over-airbrushed or not, these pictures just suck. LV ads are usually awesome but these look cheap and contrived and not artistic in the slightest. I’m sure they knew they’d have to airbrush Madonna beyond the point of recognition so they figured they’d make it look intentional. Plus, Madonna’s fashion icon days are over and she is not inspiring to anyone but a handful of wannabe queens who foolishly spend big bucks to see her creak onstage.

the art director should have placed a plain white back round,

I love these pics, #5 is awesome. I think one of the reasons theyre done in this style is to not showcase the bunny ears to strongly. You dont want some people thinking the message is to wear them in everyday fashion. But I think their intriguing, the colors are pleasing, and Madonnas expressions are new and stunning. But her skin really is lite and translucent because of her sun damage pervention discipline. So this is fashion and these photos are highly stylized.

the first campaign pictures were a million times better – im all for going for an arty approach but this is underwhelming. the colour effect is highly annoying and i cant see that anyone would be impressed seeing these in a mag in the sense that shes far too photo shopped. a big dissapointment .

Wow, now they have to resort to using the dyed negatives to hide Madonna’s over worked face. The pics are interesting, but you don’t see much of Madonna…or the LV bag/clothing. It’s like an underexposed film negative. I’m sure thats the effect they were going for, but not working to well.
I think they have gone after the celebrity status versus the content-because clearly she is heavily touched up. Her hands look that of a teenager….
