‘Queen of Pop’ Madonna continued her reign over the music industry as the hitmaker has come out on top of Forbes’ list of highest earning musicians.
The 50-year-old reigned supreme over her fellow singers as she raked in a mammoth USD 110 million between June 2008 and June 2009 thanks to her successful ‘Sticky & Sweet’ world tour, reported the magazine.
Interestingly the second and third positions were also occupied by women. Celine Dion who took home USD 100 million came in second after the ‘Material Girl’.
Beyonce Knowles came in third in the countdown, pulling in 87 million USD after the success of her album ‘I Am Sasha Fierce’.
But it wasn’t all bad news for the boys with rocker Bruce Springsteen and country star Kenny Chesney rounding out the top five with earnings of 70 million USD and 65 million USD respectively.

Yes! and she hasnt even finished Sticky & Sweet. I think by the time shes done with Sticky & Sweet, she will have grossed 1billion dollars in the last 10 years in concert touring alone.
Iconography? What kind of title is that? I don’t like it! Madonna likes play on words, esp religious words and her image. I think her greatest hits titles should have been as follows:
First Greatest Hits Package: The Immaculate Collection —> what a fantastic title this was, bold and cheeky
2nd grestest Hits Package: GHV2 —> lame lazy titel
I think it should have been —> The Second Coming or The Resurrection
3rd and final Hits Package: Instead of the reported Iconography —> should be —> Trinity or even Resurrection.

You obviously didn’t see the show…Even the Dondger Stadium show was great even though half her stage wasn’t there. The sound was awesome, light shows were flashy and cool, graphics were creative, dance moves were memorable and fresh…It was a great show, I seriously don’t know why people think it was bad…I think it was her most energetic and fun shows ever. Reminded me of the Girlie Show in a way. I have to disagree with you…Timbaland and The Neptunes are some of the greatest producers of today’s music, so the quality is obviously good. plus it’s a Madonna album. None of her albums are low quality. Timbaland and Pharrel aspired to work with Madonna as everyone does (J.R. Rotem, Chris Brown, Lil’ Wayne, Adam Lambert, AR Rahm). Give the girl some credit, it was a very quality album from beginning to end. You must have no sense of Rhythm and Beats.

*Just finished working in the studio on 3 new tracks to include on her Greatest hits album,
coming out in September
*Released her directoral debut “Filth and Wisdom” which was brilliant
*Released her documentary “I am because we are”
about the devastation that’s happening in Malawi, to critical acclaim
Just because the PRESS focuses on the adoption and her ’supposed’ affairs, etc. doesn’t mean she’s not doing anything artistic. She NEVER stops working and that’s why she’s still on top after 25+ years.
