A “Celebration” Of Madonna Music – The Ultimate Greatest Hits Collection September 28th Release
July 22, 2009 – For Immediate Release (Burbank, California) Madonna, who has racked up a record 37 top 10 hits as well as seven No. 1 albums (including her last four) on the Billboard Pop Charts, has given her fans yet another opportunity to “celebrate” her musical achievements. Today, Warner Bros. Records officially confirmed the September 28th release of “CELEBRATION” – the ultimate compilation of Madonna songs. The songs on “Celebration” have all been remastered and selected by Madonna and her fans. They cover the expanse of the Material Girl’s extraordinary career of hits including “Everybody,” “Express Yourself,” “Vogue” and “4 Minutes.” “Celebration” will be available in a two-CD set as well as a single CD. There will also be a “Celebration” DVD released simultaneously which includes the video visionary’s best videos including several that have never before been available on DVD.
“Celebration,” the CD will also include two new songs that were recently recorded in New York City. The first single, also titled, “Celebration,” co-produced by Madonna and Paul Oakenfold, will be released August 3rd. A video for the single, which will be included on the “Celebration” DVD was just filmed in Milan, Italy and was directed by long time Madonna collaborator Jonas (“Ray of Light”) Akerlund. Several dance club remixes of “Celebration” are headed to the clubs on July 24th. The song will also be available on CD and vinyl maxi. Radio will receive the “Celebration” single on August 3rd.
The cover for “Celebration” was created by street pop artist “Mr. Brainwash” who is best known for “throwing modern cultural icons into a blender and turning it up to eleven.”
Madonna, a multi Grammy award winning singer, writer and producer has had over 12 No. 1 singles and has a record-smashing 39 No. 1 singles on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Songs Chart – by far the most of any artist in the over 30 year history of the list.

The cover is a fantastic choice. Remember everyone, Madonna started out as an R&B/dance artist in New York City in the early 80s – her music and style were gritty, urban reflections of the youth, art, and vitality of the 80s NY scene – thus, a perfect choice of a vibrant, graffiti-esque pop-art cover. Excellent work! And the new single is fantastic!!! Cannot wait to buy this!!! Besides, if you guys commenting on here are real fans (as I have been for about 25 of my 30 years), stop bashing and be glad this type of anthology is finally being released.

I don’t personally like the cover art, extremelly monotonous; Madonna is so spectacular that deserves something more sophisticated.
About the hits included on the CD, well; i hope they finally put WHO’S THAT GIRL which was a worldwide number 1 song, but it seems like Madonna doesn’t actually like it. About the DVD, mmm, hope it includes all the unreleased videos!!! because we’ve got the rest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i honestly do not like the cover of the album, or single. too boring. about the 2cd set, i think it’s great, but i hope warner can release an appropiate collection because the immaculate collection and GHV2 were not what i was expecting to. Hope it includes the “forgotten”

“all been remastered”: it means that all tracks will be on the original form and not remixed, isn´t it?
Gosh I hope so. I’d rather have 30 (average of 15 each disc) proper, remastered album cuts than the ugly edits that riddled GHV2.
It’s also interesting that there’s going to be 2 editions of CELEBRATION. I hope that rumour of one of the discs being a non-stop mix is false unless of course she delivers something along the lines of Donna Summer’s ON THE RADIO with unique link-ups between songs. I’m actually surprised the special edition doesn’t just include the DVD. It’d make the package all the more memorable.
I hope so too, Both the Immaculate Collection and GHV2 were screwed up with the remixes. Hated them and didn’t do her justice. But then again, you know Warner Bros.

If Miles Away is included, I think it should be shortened a bit. The chorus lyrics are too repetitive.
