Madonna can out sell Mariah Carey and Barbara Streisand, If she wanted to… The Title is not living up to its name.. With Madonna not CELEBRATING
Its release, the joy,and that she is no longer with Warner.and be happy that fans in the UNITED STATES still have her back. Madonna will let this Great Achivement of hits Fade away And U.S FANS are sick of her lacking.. KEEP it up M. soon are backs will be turned on you…
Bad news : both versions of Celebration, the DVD and the album, are falling on Itunes. The DVD drops to 14 and the album drops to 40 :(
I know some say itunes counts only 25 % of the total sales for the Billboard 200, but I know the final List tend to be the same as on Itunes, and this makes me upset because if so, then this album may not even entry the top 10 :(. If only DVD would count and would be added to the album sales…lol..but that would not be fair and would be like a Mariah Carey move..lol..
Good news is that Revolver finally is entering the top 100 and climbing to 93 from its 100 position from yesterday, and it’s even above Mariah’s Obsessed
and I wanna know what love is which by the way are not within the top 100!!!…!!!!!…well, lets enjoy this remarkable news(yes, now this little thjings are a matter of celebration indeed). It’s so cool is not doing bad neither, it’s not in the Averall top 100 but it’s 41 in the pop Chart ..that’s mcuh better than Celebratin which is 91(ouch) but we all know this may not long that much because It’s so cool and revolver may start falling passed this opening week of the album. Hopefully Revolver will continue this momentum for an entry in the hot 100 next week.
Hey! Anyone know what the deal is with the 2-disc edition (with a brand new cover) of the single CELEBRATION? Just saw it on AMAZON.COM and it’s slated for release on October 6 along with a single disc edition which contains all the remixes available on iTunes.
Forget it. It’s the vinyl edition.
I have never been into idols twilight zones nor do I like mass popular things like Batman/ extraterrestrial,,,,, and Super Humans, harry Potter,,,,,
Madonna on the other hand acts so worldly, sometimes like a lady and sometimes like the talented hot bad girl next door who does them all (I mean it in a positive way)
All the songs on Hard Candy are beautiful, not because they are supposed to be “in” but rather because they were, underplayed if played at all. It is funny how the art works that get less attention at first, become classics later.
I liked the song Music, but from that album my favorite was Paradise not for me, which wasn’t even released as a single. Miles Away is about a love hate struggle, although it has dance vide, it is tragic song.
American Market is not exactly sophisticated when it comes to pop and dance music. Dance Music fans in the US are a very unique segment of American market, they pay much more attention to the details than the rest of the American Market.
I have lived in America and know that over there, they like to present themselves as a mass in order to be “IN”.
To us Madonna fans, “IN”= boring like Mariah, Byounce and Whitney(the church choir)
Madonna never wanted to be “IN”, that is why she stood out in the first place and that is why she is here today.
The song Everybody is one of my favorite Madonna songs, because, it only made it to the dance charts, it makes you get up and do your thing and I liked it before I even knew who sang it. I look at my favorite Madonna songs that way really, long before and after they appear on the charts. The same goes for Nothing really matters, which is not included on any of Madonna’s greatest hits, yet in the eyes and ears of her club fans, it is one of her best work ever.
Well, u complain too much about us having some fun with the charts stuff. And reporting the numbers of her Chart statistics doesn’t make haters out of us, the problem is that she’s not doing fine in the USA, and that’s a fact, and that may get u upset and mad but it’s not like we should only report when she’s high on top, duh? Anyway, she’s not supposed to be Number 1 with everything she records, and less with a Greatest Hits .
Charts whether u like it or not, speak about who is in and out in the music Industry. It’s inevitable. Athletes go to the Olympiads to compete for a medal,so artists go out there to sell records and get their work exposed in Radios and charts reflect that,ou think Madonna would be who she is now if she wouldn’t have sell her music and thus be present in the charts all this time?. Otherwise she would have become a cult artist like there are so many, without becoming the Pop Culture Icon she is.
So,Charts do matter and it’s lots of fun-lol-
on that thought here’s today US ALBUM ITUNES REPORT:
1. Dear Agony – Breaking Benjamin
2. Brand New Eyes (Deluxe Version) – Paramore
3. Brand New Eyes – Paramore
4. Black Gives Way to Blue (Bonus Track Version) – Alice In Chains
5. Revolution – Miranda Lambert
6. Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel – Mariah Carey
7. Crash Love (Expanded Edition) – AFI
8. Kiss & Tell – Selena Gomez & The Scene
9. Backspacer – Pearl Jam
10. The Blueprint 3 – Jay-Z
11. Celebration (Deluxe Video Edition) – Madonna
14. Love Is the Answer (Deluxe Edition) – Barbra Streisand
38. Celebration (Deluxe Version)
Madonna…..Oh well!
38!!!…and who the hell are many of that people above her?…it’s soooooooo funny to see 90’s low key band Alice in Chains doing better than Madonna, that’s so from the twilight zone..lol…
people are more into the DVD Colletion than on the Songs Collection, and I pretty much doubt This work will become bigger than Inmacculate Collection, for that it would have to sell over 10 million copies in the USA and more than 30′ worldwide which for today’s numbers it won’t just happen. But I do believe it is a more extend Hits Collection of her indeed, because it covers more period od time and because it has more songs anyway-lol-although we cannot really call them all HITS(miles away, give it to me, etc etc etc)
You can use itunes as a barameter for sales. Everyone already has these songs on itunes, they are going to buy a PHYSICAL copy of this album.
Sorry, I meant you CAN’T use itunes
as a barameter.
You mean BAROMETER…
Charts are relevant, but US charts only counts for a fraction of Worldwide sales. Madonna has come to where she is now, because she doesn’t depend on one single market. She has a wide international market. Whereas other artists mostly sell in their home territories. Give it to me sold more than 200000 copies in the US alone. It became a club as well as a European number 1 record.
Things don’t always have work equally well in one market all the time.
Thats why she tours, it’s the only way she makes money. She does care to be #1.
Take a bow was her last #1
She still madonna .she still the queen but be realistic
no matter what chart position she will be at billboard 200 , she still top of the world chart ..!!! Madonna the best selling n the most successful female singer of all time, it’s time to celebrate.
Wow ,finally someone with sense, well explain.
not true carlos…..
4 minutes went to #1 in US.
The contents, the mix, the digitally remasterd versions and the artwork on the album cover is really one of a kind (MUST HAVE)
You can’t call yourself a music lover if you miss out on this one. If You ever wondered how she became the Queen of Universe and if ever wondered what the Ultimate Postmodernism in Music is like, then think Collection CD is for you.
It is amazing how after all these years the haters keep watching everything about Madonna, every chart inch up and down. She really knows how to keep the haters busy while keep her fans happy.
This album contains cream of Madonna’s three decade of GEART & DIVERSE work. It is in it for a long run on and off the charts. It is the best collection by any artist ever.
Long after Mariah’s albums have done their sales and have been disposed in the dustbin of the history, Madonna’s albums are still playing and selling. Madonna was never an upstart; she started right from the bottom and worked her way up. Her early Club hits, such as Holliday and everybody, did not enter top 10, but they went on to become among the all time classics. Hard Candy has gone platinum in the US, when it went off the charts few months after its release, it had sold well over 700000 copies. However, worldwide it has sold more copies than Mariah’s unemancipated album.
Immaculate Collection did not go to number 1, but it became one of the bestselling albums ever in every country on this planet. Mariah should not even bother putting a collection out because all of her records sound the same (cry me the river) how much of that can one take? At least with Madonna, if you skip a song or two, you always reach a point when she gets you back up, pumps the energy up and gives you a fresh club song.
Queens Become, but they are never made and put on the throne by airplay.
Wow number 1 in UK, Germany and many more places to come and top 5 in many more countries, sounds like cash registers are ringing fast.
I am a Madonna fans/ admirer and I always buy her tangible CDs(flat and round format). It is nice to see her songs retuning to U Tube for the sake of accessibility while at work, but I am personally not into downloads. I prefer the Vinyl and CD experience.
This Collection = a Treasure for centuries to come. When you think the golden age of post modernism, then this is collection fits the top of the bill.
Great and Diverse work by Madonna. Ultimately, that is what counts the most. Charts come and go, but the songs live on(Madonna’s beat goes on)
Glad to see it’s doing well down here in Australia, a lot better than I thought it would considering how badly HC sold. Curiously, haven’t seen the single disc edition anyway here yet.
Gay song doesn’t deserve more!
Actually it’s pretty high considering a normal male person can’t like this one!
mariah, oh pliis who cares.. same old same OLD..
thank god the queen is thinking europe too, not only us.. revolver u can keep it, ha
shut the fuck up. celebration is europe music. not in the us. and madge is the best!!!
What is up with the horrid version of “Express Yourself”. I totally lost my boner.
The version of Express Yourself on Celebration begins in the same way as she released it on “Remixed Prayers” as titled “Express Yourself (Local Mix)” Not my favorite either
Yeah, it’s one of the many crappy video mix versions. It’s horrible! It goes from a mix of the original to the club mix. The cowbell and other elemnts are suddenly gone after the 1st 7 seconds of the song!
And WTF is up with the end of Don’t Tell Me??? They couldn’t fade the damn song out. No, some queen just hit STOP in the editing room and they all thought it was perfect. And Erotica was poorly edited during the middle break with the indian chant. The dude is still singing and he suddenly gets chopped off during a note. This collection is just downright lazy!
american charts are full of shit!
the uk music indusrty is wider and of bigger intrest.
Fact.
indeed!
GAY
Stop all this chart shit you people. There’s no way Celebration will even get to debut somewhere close to top 10 in the USA. Nobody cares about buying another compilation from her but some die hard fans. She could bearly sell around 250,000 with a new album(hard candy) and will outsell that with a Greatest Hits?. Never!
Mariah and Barbra will be the big news this week or the following, and i agree that all this was made in purpose so that she is regarded OVER Madonna and what’s more stupid is that both Obsessed and I wanna know…(Floppy singles both )show it’s gonna be a shit album to score number 1. GRRRRRRR……..:)
Barbra will be number 1 this week. And next week Mimi will lose momentum and will never reach number 1.
nope, Mariah is ahead Brabra thus far, bu anyway not even Mariah is clsoe to Number 1 thus far.
And for those who think this is just too soon, yes it is, but not too much.
Madonna’s Hard Candy Album debuted in the US with 280,000 albums sold in the first 6 days. It finally went platinum in June of this year. Do your homework, Chump!
As for Mariah, her album is crap, I bought it today listened to it twice through and deleted it. As for her cover of “I Want To Know What Love Is”…I think she needs to do her music homework and listen to Wynona Judd’s cover of the same song and see how real talent sang it.
It finally went Platinium? what kind of twisted die hard fan are u Casey? so u saying HC sold 1 million in the USA?
huh! that’s the biggest stupidity I’ve read! so u saying it sold over 300,00 in the USA this year?. As far as I remember it ended its ran in the charts with around 680,000 or 700,000, then u may be living in another Dimension-lol-or maybe I am-so many possibilities!
Well, she is number 8 on US Amazon, which is not too bad. Even Mariah is number 9 there.
And don’t forger that neither iTunes nor Amazon are the biggest sales contributors. Most albums are still bought physically in shops.
In the UK, her album was stuck at number 4 on iTunes the whole week, and was number 3 on UK Amazon, yet it became number 1 album by a healthy margin.
On the other hand, it’s going to be hard for M in the US as both Barbra and Mariah are realing their albums – not compilations – this week. Mariah’s album is quite solid and Barbra’s album is good for candle-lit dinner, which Americans like.
iTunes Store is the Biggest Music Retailer in the US
Anyway I don’t expect Celebration to debut anywhere near the top in the US. Greatest Hits just don’t sell that well there. GHV2 was only #8 and even The Immaculate Collection never went to #1
GHV2 went to # 7 and although Immaculate collection never was #1 it was #2 and is among the top 5 selling compilations ever.
Whaaaat??
Mariah Releasing her album this week too!??!?!
That’s pretty much of a low move!! puts her right at level of bugs!!. She’s definitely targeting killing Madonna and Barbra in the USA if so! This just speaks more shit about her(Mariah) cause she is gonna outsell Madonna’s work 8collection though)horribly and I can see the headlines all over Billboard and comments about it. Crap crap crap.
Actually, Mariah’s new album was not pre-selling very well, however, she is going on Oprah this week…
I am sure Barbra is going to sell more than Mariah’s though, she is on her way to a number 1 album this week.
As far as i know, Itunes are 90 % close to the final Chart. So yes, this compilation will flop horribly in the US. RIP Celebration :(
Itunes accounts for only 25% of the US music market. And 65% of all music is still bought on physical CDs, not digitally. Check this out:
http://www.fastcompany.com/blog/stephanie-schomer/write/itunes-share-music-market-grows-25
so there’s still hope it will crush top 10? I hope so. Less than top 10 would be awful.
US ITUNES ALBUM
#35 CELEBRATION DELUXE VERSION
Thing we gotta get ready for a huge US Disappointment again.
Nevermind
I think it’s just too soon for that but having in consideration how new albums should perform we can say indeed this is a terrible beginning for her, below the top 30, and seems like people are more interested in the video collection than in the album.
Let’s all get ready for a sour time in the US…as usual…lol
No! US iTunes album is:
#8 – Deluxe Video Version (38 songs + 30 videos)
#32 – Deluxe Version (only songs)
#156 – “18 songs” version
well. video collections do not count for the hot 200 so a 32 is a terrible number anyway. Shall it reach the top 10 in the end?
we’ll see
