Superstar Madonna will visit the Late Show with David Letterman, Wednesday, Sept. 30 (11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
This will mark the music icon’s eighth appearance on the CBS broadcast — she was last interviewed on the show on Jan. 11, 2007, with prior sit-down interviews on Oct. 20, 2005, Nov. 11, 2003, Nov. 3, 2000 and her memorable appearance on March 31, 1994. She also made a brief cameo appearance Feb. 13, 1995, when she delivered Valentine’s candy and flowers to Letterman. On Dec. 28, 1998, she appeared in a taped celebrity Top Ten List of the “Top Ten Things Beautiful Women Love About Dave.”

it will be cool to see Madonna on Letterman again
there can be some uncomfortable moments at times,
even some down right rude / crude moment as well,
and some funny times too…
i do tune in when i hear she’s going to be on his show,
something to look forward to!
Madonna’s appearances on Letterman have always made the audience in the crowd and viewing audience cringe b/c she doesn’t come off as warm, but rather cold and doesn’t have much to talk about or discuss. She just goes on there to be applauded and admired like, “Look at me, yes you are in the presence of Madonna” And the audience doesn’t like that!
I think the way Madonna comes off on Lettermen is an authentic portrayal of the real woman….impatient,complex, guarded, cold, distant,out of touch, demanding, insecure, funny, scandalous, somewhat witty etc…the element of surprise is awlays what persona shes gonna try to bring along…but the real Madonna always ends up coming out.

That is why we fans love her. She isn’t ashamed to show her many different faces, personas and moods. She doesn’t hide them like the closet case MJ did.
I hear your point. But as the interview progresses, she doesn’t offer any amusing stories or musings like other guests do…and Letterman himself begins to get impatient that this woman has nothing to say, and the audience gets frustrated too. She will have one or two good quips/witty comments, and thats it. Other than that she sits there with her arms folded and….nothing. Just awkward moments. Maybe this time will be different.

As far as I am concerned, Madonna may feel like drying her armpits again; there is always something witty and interesting about her.
It is amazing that after so many years and so many types of news, she remains a mystery.

She may have come off badly during the infamous appearance where she said the f word over and over. But the last time she was on there, she was very warm and funny. She didn’t come off as any of the terrible things you are saying. They talked about the birth of his child.
That appearance in the early 90’s when she said the F word 13 times was my favorite Madonna appearance on Letterman. The one with Sandra Bernhardt in 1988 was the second funniest one. The rest of them were boring, especially the ones while she was married to what’s his face?
