As far as single shows are concerned, I was so amazed at the kind of reception she got in Scandinavia: Norway, Sweden and Finland as well as Belgium and Switzerland. Their numbers as well as their appreciation for queen of universe was way beyond all expectations. People in Norway stood hours in the rain and made Madonna really welcome.
What made those shows and the audiences more especial was the fact that in those countries people do not usually lay the red carpet for stars. However, for Madonna they really went out of their way to show the queen how much they loved her.
US Market counts for about 25% of the total. This goes to show you that as far as top earning musicians go, she still rules the good old USA too.

the mass media, and a good deal of her now long forgotten contemporaries, who has been labeled a “has been” / “no longer relevant” / “over the hill” etc…just made almost half a billion dollars by performing a little under 100 shows 25 years after her career in the music industry started…

So in 2009 she made almost half the shows she did in 2008 and made 2 millions more than 2008’s half? …awesome…:)…get Mariah, Beyonce, Britney, Pink, Miley, Black eye peas, Eminem, etc etc to try to achieve that and what you’ll get?: headlines in the newspapers about artists dying of heart attacks while performing like Madonna does it…Hope this doesn’t happen with Madonna either, chick needs to take a break from all that demanding work and training for the concerts…:)
