Individually and certainly combined the United World and the United Europe are bigger markets (have more buying power) than US.
Billboard charts are important, but they need to be seen within the context. 1- I doubt if any of the so-called “new releases” in the US top 10will reach 1 million mark anytime soon. If you don’t believe that, compare the sales of this monthes top 10 list with the sales one year ago. 2- millions of Americans don’t have money to pay their back rents or insurances right now. So buying records, which they can also download illegally, is not high on their priority list. 3- Historically speaking Collection albums, in the US continue to sell in long run. As far as tangible single sales are concerned, Madonna is still doing very well in the US despite lack of airplay.
It is a pitty that in America, the elections as well as the songs’ chart positions are influenced by airtime.
It is great to see Madonna topping the world chart once again.
The title Queen of Universe fits her perfectly.
yeah yeah yeah she Rocks
she’s always on top , though it’s a greatest hits album , great work queen
Madonna drops to #20 in US (68 comments)
Madonna # 1 all over the world and in Europe( 12 comments)
lol
we already know that
does that mean people care more about the USA?
mew!
Work it gurrrrl!!!!
Great, at least it will sell more than 1 million copies in the end…for a Greatest Hits with songs everyone already has it’s great news.
This great news and much more reflective of Madonna magnitude.
Мадонна умничка!
OMG! Only 680k in 3 weeks. It’s bad news!
Look at it within the context. Look at the rest of the so called new albums by other artists. At least Madonna has managed to top them once again even with her previously released materials.
I know, but Hard Candy sold 1.150.000 in 3 weeks. I hope Revolver will change it. And Celebration will sell more than Hard Candy.
Practically all of the songs on Madonna’s album have already charted high in many places on this planet.
No it’s not, that’s how sales are nowadays and she’s actually probably closer to 1m seeing as not all countries are reported and at last report she was already past 700k according to this chart.
The Queen is always on top! ♥
AWESOME!!!!!!!!
