the article mentioned declined sales and that Madonna was no longer “relevant” because she was old and she has no longer appeal for the younger market/teenagers who buy cds….bla bla bla…

I like and admire Barbara too, but her number one first week album sales did not match Madonna’s Hard Candy.
Mariah’s all new album could not even sell close to the numbers of Hard Candy.
America is full of double standards. You don’t hear people asking about Mariah’s’ relevancy, when in fact she has been producing the same kind of boring albums all throughout her career and there are plenty of gospel singers who have a far better voice than Mariah.
By the way, either in 2000 Americans voted for silly warmongering Bush over Al Gore or they allowed their presidential election to be rigged, just like the charts in US are rigged by biased right wing radios.

Adriano, although I have my reservations about the internet because of its downsides, although I miss the days when MTV was broad in its play list (it had pure music from Rock to Dance and R&B but no rap crap), although I miss Friday Night videos, and the Dance Radios in America, the mainstream radio has long become a crap. They have nothing to offer.
I listen to my music at clubs, on watch them on U Tube, buy the tangible format (CD) and have some MP3 format for when I go running or biking.
The Mainstream Radio is Bush and Republican Party propaganda. To me the mainstream radio has been irrelevant for years.

For another female artists to surpass and try to fit Madonna’s “crown” they will have to:
a) Sell over 190 million albums worldwide(runner up Celine Dione)
b) Sell over 100 million singles worldwide(runner up is Whitney houston)…
c) Have the Stadium list of international number ones: over 25 Global Number 1’s,12 number 1’s in the US, 13 number 1’s in the Uk etc etc(runner up would be Mariah Carey)
d) Achieve all the numbers she’s achieve with her Tours (runner up….???)
e) Win a Golden Globe award
f) Be a multiple Grammy winner
g) Achieve all the MTV video music awards she’s got.
etc etc etc….
I don’t think this will happen,,,specially the way the music Industry is now…and have in mind that even when she’s retired(if ever) she will still sell her music, and when she’s gone it will continue to…so she’ll always be once step ahead, she’ll always be the parameter, the others will only be followers or runners up…:)

Due to how the album sales are nowadays it will take britney 7-10 studio albums (with an average sales of 4 million each album) and 14 to 20 years to reach the 100 million albums number that besides Madonna, Celine, mariah, barbra,whitney and janet also reached…and other 20 to 25 studio albums and 40 to 50 years to reach the over 180 million mark Madonna has surpassed…lol…and sorry but this ain’t gonna happen at all…unless the album sales boost in the following years but if…at any point, MADONNA will always be selling…and no, the other younger divas won’t stand a chance either because Britney is the most successful one among them, whether she doesn’t sing as much or whether she gets fat, If Britney can’t not even Miley Cyrus will…lol…gone are the days when new super booster rising stars used to have 4 or more super single hits worldwide(Ok Lady Gaga was close) and sold 20 million or more albums in their debut and become Cultural Phenomena…now they are like Lady Gaga or Miley Cyrus and sell 4 million alone, so in terms of album sales Madonna will keep the lead always, unless Celine Dione who is the closest runner up with +160 million albums, sell like hell the comming years….lol…

I mentioned Britney because she’s the leader of her generation in terms of albums and singles sales, also in Charts and Stardom. Cristina, Pink, Beyonce,Rihanna and now Lady Gaga are runners up for Britney. Just a hint,Beyonce has only sold 18-20 million albums as a solo artist, and even adding to her totals the Destiny’s child totals, she would reach 53-55 million, however Destiny’s child is not about her alone. I’m not saying Beyonce is not talented, she is, but as we all know, just having a good voice, a big body and shaking your big butt hasn’t taken any of the Divas to what and where they are. There’s still plenty for these youngster divas to ever try pass and outclass the oldies…lol…:)

The Dutch TV NL 4 just showed S&S tour which was recorded in Argentina. I missed this tour, as I couldn’t get a ticket for one of her shows near to where I live. They were sold-out.

Most of the album sounds strange. Poor edits. “Erotica” may be the worst. Check out the awful edit between 3:17 and 3:30. They chop the indian guy right in the middle of a note. I cringe every time I hear it. And “Don’t Tell Me” just shuts off at the end! WTF???

Obama’s vision (at least the vision that he relays) does deserve the Nobel peace prize. Besides, Hillary and Bill Clinton’s team presidency, Obama is the best President America has had in ages. The biggest step in getting things done is the one that often is skipped by many politicians. The biggest step is to recognize and acknowledge the wrong doings of the past. There is no way forward if people don’t acknowledge the things that the old policies and politicians did wrong.
Having said that, I think Madonna is the greatest Cultural Visionary ever. In my mind, Madonna deserved to be awarded the Nobel peace prize in 1983. Her vision was of peace and breaking barriers:
“let love shine, and you will find a way to come together in every nation”. That is such a beautiful visionary ideal.
To this day every time I begin to hate, I remind myself of that Madonna line. Then the hate quickly fades away.

In a year when America went broke, Madonna made more money than ever before and Hillary Clinton lived up to her name when after a hard fought democratic race which she lost, she put on a brave face and stood up to serve her country side by side with Obama. You don’t find women like Hillary, Pelosi, Oprah and Madonna on the republican side. The republicans have airhead small talkers like Palin and Bush to represent them.
Let me tell you something, Obama has already made the difference. He has made history by making America proud of its diversity and black people more proud than ever before(yes they can too). He has begun to rebuild broken bridges between America and the rest of the world.
What did the republicans do? They left the world in a mess and the US economy in even a bigger mess. They filled up their own pockets and left the rest out in the cold. The republicans discredited America.
I find it so hypocritical and astonishing that the republicans dare to criticize Obama. If I was a republican, I wouldn’t come out of the woods yet. I would actually change my label, get out of town and keep a low profile for a while. The reason America and the rest of the world are going through hardship right now is because of the failed republican policies.
