Billboard’s pan-European sales chart leaders continue their runs, with Madonna’s “Celebration” (Warner Bros.) starting a second week at No. 1 on Top 100 Albums and “Sexy Chick” (Gum/Positiva/Virgin/EMI) by David Guetta featuring Akon into a fifth week at No. 1 on European Hot 100 Singles.
“Celebration” falls 1-2 in Italy and on the U.K. chart, with weekly sales in the latter market of 52,000, but holds at No. 1 for a second week in Germany. Muse holds at No. 2 overall for a second week with the former chart-topper “The Resistance” (Helium 3/Warner Music), which descends in most markets but is still No. 1 in Switzerland.

not that us madonna fans in us dont like her any longer, we grew up with her and these days theres just more important things than buying records,
I think Guy is brilliant businessperson. He has a sound judgment, good market orientation and mostly on target prognoses/ market prediction.
This art collector’s item has long leg legs. In the long run it will end up one of the biggest selling collections album ever. In the short run it will great business worldwide whichever you choose to look at it.

- The 36 songs on album from A to Z, are true testament of Madonna’s voice power as well as the songwriting skills.
- The video Collection that accompanies this release is unmatched and will remain unmatched by any standard. They are true proof of a video visionary.

The titles of Mariah’s albums are the proof of her lack of intelligence.
1- “Daydream”: represents no good gals and lads who like to sit down, daydream and get fat.
2- “Emancipation of mimi”: Someone who is named mimi is anything but emancipated.
3- “Glitter”: Too much glitter is an indication of weakness in other areas such as attempting to make up for low self-image by flashing the glitter.
4- “Memories of an Imperfect angel” : Angels don’t exist and if they did and if they were smart enough, they would know that perfection is a very relative thing.
Mariah’s next album should be named RE-Education of Mariah and her fans.

I just hope Revolver gets released as a single soon, however Warner is so lazy and lame and Guy Oseary said there won’t be a video for Revolver. Is she moving from Bad(Warner) to Worse(Live Nation) ?

So much comments when decadent US refuses to buy Madonna’s new album and nothing when she triumphs in Europe as it is also for the rest of the world. I cannot understand some fans. Really.
Some people can’t see further than their nose. They are the ones who also blindly supported George Bush to wage war. When I was in America, some people actually thought that across the US border, there is Mexico and beyond that it is an alien strange world. Those who buy Mariah records probably don’t even know where Germany is.
You might say like artist like fans.
As far as I am concerned, business is business and every copy sold is important regardless of where it is sold. The US dollar has lost much of its value as a world currency, and American economy is not what it once was. Europe is still there and their currency is stronger than ever before, Asia and South America are very strong and growing economies too.
So the fact that Madonna is on top of the world chart is the proof that she is way bigger than just a hip hop radio airplay queen like Mariah.
Madonna is Queen of Universe, and Euro and World Charts are proof of that. Club Charts are also proof of that her madjesty’s power, because the club charts are not dictated by biased radio but by club audiences and whether a song works on the dance floor or not.
