I will say she will get a nomination for Best Dance Recording, and another for Best Compilation for her Celebaration Greates Videos which she will win.
Celebration will be nominated in NONE of those categories…..is there a nomination for new song soley used to promote a greatest hits cd?
Neither Elvis or MJ nor Beatles and most certainly not Mariah ever had that many great songs to be able to put in one place.

Just watched madonna’s new dvd collection andI am very disapointed. I won’t mention all the vidoes that are missing as that has been covered. My problems with this release:
cheap dvd case (aramay one)
it’s only NTSC encoded and region 0
single layer disc so all the videos are compressed
PICTURE QUALITY – OH MY GOD so bad, some are ok but I want you was the worst. ghost image of madonna. This was particulary upsetting as the sticker says they are all remastered
Icon version of get together, prefered the orginal myself. This version was orginally 16:9 format but has been squeezed into a 4:3 aspect
Sorry was originally 4:3 and had been compressed into a 16:9 ratio (I have the japanese tour edtion of confessions album and thankfully has orginal aspect and is better quality)

I hope she actually gets nominated…but hm, Record of the Year for “Celebration”??? I’d love for that to happen, but I kinda doubt it will.
I mean, “Celebration” is coming from a compilation album. If they snubbed “4 Minutes” and “Give it 2 Me”, or even “Like a Prayer”, I guess they’re gonna do it to this one too.
They even snubbed “Hung Up”!
Celebration is a great Euro Disco song. Yes a lot of cheese. And we are proud of it too. We love cheese here. You can keep the beef there in Texas or give it to Mariah to eat it. She can chew on all kinds of beefs at the same time. I for one was never into beef consumption. If you get what I mean. I am glad there are still some people who make up their own minds and recognize a great beat and a cool sound when they hear one.
I wish I lived in Europe. I like cheesy Euro Disco music and cheesy Euro Men.

Let’s enjoy all her achievements in this decade:
*Worlwide, Madonna will end up number 1 without any competition in the Singles Chart for this Decade. She is the almighty Queen with more Number 1’s(9), more cumulative weeks at Number 1 (67!!!!) and shall score 5 or 7 singles within the Decade top 100
* She will rank within the top 10 artists with more album sales( with nearly 40′ albums )worldwide
* She scored her 40th Club/Dance Number 1 in Billboard.
* She’s the almighty Tour Queen!
So for this and more, let’s all draw a victorious smile in our faces; because if we compare her with those who jumped into the scene in the 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s , she has managed to stay relevant and dominate some categories despite so much competition out there. And she also managed to grow up as a human being and adopted 2 cute african kids.
Now she’ll start a new episode in her stunning career, with Live Nation, and whether the Charts go in favor of her or not, I know she’ll manage to deliver some great Music for those who just want to enjoy her.

sales aren’t going to be what they used to be anymore… i think that’s why the live nation deal was signed. because the record companies seem not to be able to cope with today’s market forces. besides, there’s a huge number of niches… it’s natural, it isn’t that she is going down… it’s just there’s a lot of options. even in these conditions, all depends on promotion and by fortune this was the last thing released by a big record company, at least for her.. better things are to come.

Celebration debuted number 4 on the album worlwdide chart, with sales of only 180,000!!!!!–whatever happened of those reports saying she debuted high around the world’s top 10’s.
Ok, we’re witnessing what’s gonna be the lowest selling album in her career. And to think this Compilation is way better than GHV2 and wider than Immaculate Collection, but it’s gonna be way down in the bottom in sales. HOLY CRAP!

Record of the year and Song of the year? I think that’s a little bit too much indeed. Although I know a lot of times songs that didn’t do well in charts won those prizes but think that was so daring from Warner.
And I do love Revolver more than celebration,but I can recognize this all Greates Hits project was a pain in the ass for Madonna; she just wanted to be out of Warner and i feel that’s the reason for her lack of commitment with it.

It doesn’t matter how successful the song was or not. Sometimes songs or albums that are little known win and sometimes it’s the popular ones that do. Warner is a company and they will submit their artists for consideration whether they actually get nominated or even win is a whole different story.

you know… when i first heard the “revolver” demo i thought “now THIS is a MADONNA SONG! i can totally hear her singing this, esp. as breathless mahoney…” i thought this song would be a sure thing for madonna. BUT then i heard her version and it’s ghastly! her version is so UN-madonna! wtf happened? how in the world did she manage to fuck THAT ONE up??? “revolver” is a hot, well written song. i just wish madonna hadn’t been so lazy about it’s delivery.
