Madonna was declined from producing acclaimed new movie ‘Precious’, author Sapphire has revealed.
Sapphire said the Queen of Pop was eager to be associated with the film adapted from 1996 novel Push.
Madonna was almost Mariah Carey’s boss on acclaimed new movie Precious – the pop superstar was among the first people to show an interest in adapting author Sapphire”s gritty drama into a film.
“There was this really earnest college student with his backpack on who wanted to do his first film, and then Madonna wanted to produce it,” the Daily Express quoted Sapphire as telling Entertainment Weekly magazine.
“I was like, ”Madonna? I don”t think this is her film,”” she added.
The post finally went to moviemaker Lee Daniels who managed to convince her with his credentials.

Hope this film gets ‘watched.’ It has a message. I know because Madonna became interested and Oprah, too.
Well say what you want about Mariah but she gets the kind of reviews Madonna can only dream of. The press loves Mariah in this movie. She also shows balls by going without make-up. I can’t see Madonna doing that. So repect to Mariah for that.

LOL, so Mariah should get an Oscar for wearing no makeup? Give me a break. She’s telling everyone they put lots of makeup on her to make her look ugly instead of admitting she looked like that without makeup. She’s overshadowed in the movie and her non-speaking presence is better than when she utters a single word, which doesn’t say much about her acting. She’s okay in the role, but her record company and her PR team have been telling everyone she is an Oscar contender since before the movie was even shown.
Madonna has done the no-makeup thing in Dangerous Game, so what? Look beyond the “no makeup” thing and see the performance for what it is.

Bram, WHAT??? Give me a fucking break. This is the first film that Mariah has had positive reviews for and it sounds like she’s hardly in it. The only reason she’s getting attention is she happens to be in the most pivotal scene in the movie AND she has a mustache. Oh and her management is acting like she has a supporting role, which she doesn’t… If you recall, Madonna won a Golden Globe for Evita and she also got rave reviews for Deparately Seeking Susan, A League of Their own and even Shadows and Fog, Dick Tracy and Dangerous Game. Do your homework.

have anything to do with furthering Parah Scarey’s “career”
besides,
the author is more about keeping the film produced with
a mostly minority cast and production, Madonna and her
skin color would not be a good fit for the author’s “vision”
