In April, Lionsgate Home Entertainment reaches into Miramax’s catalog for the release of Madonna: Truth or Dare on Blu-ray.
Filmmakers Alek Keshishian and Mark Aldo Miceli’s vérité-styled documentary takes an intimate look at the pop icon during her controversial “Blond Ambition” tour, contrasting Madonna’s wild public image with the creative drive and professional focus powering the tour’s behind-the-scenes machinations.
Lionsgate’s Blu-ray has remastered this film for 1080p, presenting it in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio with 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio.
The disc also has the following bonus supplement: Original theatrical trailer
Madonna revealed her anxiety about performing Sunday at the Super Bowl XLVI halftime show, in spite of her superstar status.
“Oh my god, I’m so nervous … you have no idea,” the pop icon told Anderson Cooper on his daytime CNN talk show “Anderson,” set to air Thursday.
“First of all, it’s the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl is kind of like the holy of holies in America,” Madonna continued. “I’m going to come in halfway between the church experience and I’m going to have to deliver a sermon that’s going to have to be very impactful.”
“I have to put the greatest show on earth in the middle of the greatest show on earth … that’s a lot of pressure,” she added.
Though Madonna would not reveal any details about her star turn when the Patriots face the Giants in the NFL’s title game, TMZ reported Tuesday that it had a hunch.
Photographs reportedly taken over the weekend at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis showed the word “Vogue” lit up on the floor during stage-lighting tests, according to the gossip site.
When asked by Cooper what her performance would entail, Madonna simply deadpanned, “Singing!”

Markus Lupfer has a new fan in Madonna no less. The singer and style icon chose to wear his spring/summer 2012 intarsia star jumper for the cover of her new single, Give Me All Your Luvin’.
“It’s a star for a star!” he joked. “I think she looks amazing! I was so excited to see it.”
The British designer sent the star’s stylist a selection of items from his latest collection, before the singer eventually singled the knit out. Although Lupfer sadly didn’t get to meet Madonna, she couldn’t have given her endorsement to a more appreciative recipient.
“Yes, I am a fan – I grew up listening to her music and we have it on in the Studio a lot,” he told us. “Lucky Star is my favourite – I love that one!”
“Yes, I’m going to the Super Bowl…,” she said. “I’m gonna be performing with Madonna and Nicki Minaj… If you’re gonna go to the Super Bowl, you might as well go with America’s biggest female icons.”
“As musicians, we’re two women and we represent two opposite sides of the world,” she continued, on the Madonna collaboration. “If we can come together on a piece of music or something like the Super Bowl, I feel like that’s actually a cool thing to see this year because it’s getting silly out there.”
Nearly six years after it was created, Madonna’s Raising Malawi charity is set to break ground on the construction of schools in the impoverished country, but they will be run by the local community, not the superstar’s organization.
According to organizers, work on the first school will start on March 30 in the Kasungu area, about 80 miles from the capital of Lilongwe, and all of the schools should be built by June 2013. Raising Malawi is providing $300,000 to the non-governmental organization buildOn to develop the schools. They’ll serve about 1,000 boys and girls in the southern African nation.
“This remains a very big priority in my life and I am excited that with the help of buildOn we can maintain our ongoing commitment to move forward efficiently,” Madonna said in a statement provided to The Associated Press. More »
