  I totally agree. By the way, I wish people paid more attention to the music and the show. MDNA is an awesome album. And the show, from what I’ve seen, is full of energy, theatrical, and innovative. I really think people will (re)discover MDNA in a few years, as it happened with Erotica. Hopefully people will start appreciating it, as it should, in the coming months, as the tour progresses. At least in some places, like Italy, people are appreciating it. That video of fans singing “I don’t give a” in Rome’s Madonna rehearsal made me cry.

I do remember a 90´s interview (MTV, I guess…) where she was describing her music and videos and shows, and says something very similar to this, something like she was more interested “in the rough parts of things”, in the “darker, in the mid-section-of-the-street side of things”. 20 years later she still has the same obsessions, she´s after the same quest. In few words, she stays true to herself, and I LUV her 4 THAT.

  As much as she reinvents herself, and her shows now are visually and sonically different, I agree that she has stayed true to herself. Like any great artist, it is not difficult to find a common thread in Madonna’s work. This rebellion against the oppressive and sexually backwards Catholic church, and the hell of losing her mother and having a lonely childhood have stayed with Madonna throughout her entire career.
