Heartbreak City and Two Steps Behind Me rumoured lyrics

Heartbreak City

Cut me down the middle,
f***ed me up a little.
You said I was your queen.
I tried to give you everything.
And now you want your freedom

You got just what you came for,
a bit of fame and fortune,
and I’m no longer needed.

‘You tore me into pieces,
you didn’t have no damn reason.
I let you in my kingdom,
you helped yourself with everything.

‘I curse the day we met.
This memory is haunting me.
I wish I could forget.’

Two Steps Behind Me

You’re a copycat,
Where is my royalty?
You’re a pretty girl,
I’ll give you that.
But stealing my recipe,
it’s an ugly look,

Did you study me hard enough?
You’re never gonna be,
you’re just a wannabe me.
Like a sister all messed-up,
who’s gonna help you out?
In your fantasy, you can try it all.
But you can’t be me.

You can walk the walk,
even talk the talk.
But you’ll always be
two steps behind me.

Rumour: Madonna slams Gaga and Guy Ritchie in a new song ?

The 56-year-old singer has allegedly taken a swipe at her ex-husband, whom she married in 2000 and divorced in 2008, in leaked lyrics taken from her upcoming 13th studio album.
She sings of the director in the song ‘Heartbreak City’: “Cut me down the middle, f***ed me up a little. You said I was your queen. I tried to give you everything. And now you want your freedom.
“You got just what you came for, a bit of fame and fortune, and I’m no longer needed. You tore me into pieces, you didn’t have no damn reason. I let you in my kingdom, you helped yourself with everything.
“I curse the day we met. This memory is haunting me. I wish I could forget.”
However, Guy, 45 – with whom she has sons Rocco and David – isn’t the only one Madonna has hit out at in her songwriting as she’s also criticised the ‘Applause’ hitmaker, 28, for “copying” her.
In the track ‘Two Steps Behind Me’, she sings: “You’re a copycat, Where is my royalty? You’re a pretty girl, I’ll give you that. But stealing my recipe, it’s an ugly look.
“Did you study me hard enough? You’re never gonna be, you’re just a wannabe me. Like a sister all messed-up, who’s gonna help you out?”
Meanwhile, there’s no guarantee that either of the songs will make it onto the album as the ‘Hung Up’ hitmaker has penned around 50 tracks for the collection, but friends of the blonde beauty insist she isn’t holding back when it comes to her songwriting.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “They’re very harsh lyrics but Madonna really wants to express herself again.”

Diplo discussing Madonna’s new album for Billboard

Diplo has joined Madonna for three studio sessions so far, and the alcohol was flowing on one night:
They connected in New York and he’s clearly excited about how the recording went. “One [song] is super weird,” Diplo says. “Late one night in the studio we got a little bit drunk and she improvised a little hook and we made a song out of it. I think it’s going to be a breakthrough if she can manage to get everything together and get it out properly.”

What does Madonna drink when she gets drunk in the studio?
Rosé. “It was nice,” says Diplo. “I don’t think she really drinks, either.”

Madonna invited Diplo to her Oscar party… but he couldn’t make it. Still, the pair began texting, and Diplo sent Madonna over some music. Madge took the production more seriously than Diplo could have imagined. “She wrote me back like a 20-page text, notes about all these songs,” he says — and a collaboration was underway.

One of the in-the-works Madonna tracks has unwittingly evolved into a big pop record. “That song is on like version 20,” Diplo says of the as-yet-untitled track. “It went from a piano ballad to a ‘Turn Down for What’-style song, which I didn’t like. Now it’s somewhere in the middle.”

Rumour: Madonna to make her X Factor debut in November?

With Simon Cowell returning to the judging panel, alongside Cheryl Cole, it would seem the music mogul is pulling strings for some A-list guests.

Madonna has never appeared on any kind of talent show before, but it seems the queen of pop is set to make her debut this autumn.

A source told The Sun: “It’s looking very hopeful Madonna will perform, possibly in November on one of the live shows.

“There are a lot of big names releasing music at that time, but she’s absolutely the number one name we are trying to secure.”

They added: “She needs her next album to be a success in the UK and a performance on ITV in front of 12 million people would be the best platform.”
