Tickets were just released for the first European dates of Madonna's hugely anticipated Sticky & Sweet Tour 2008. Fans can now buy VIP packages and premium ticket for Madonna's European shows on www.viagogo.co.uk. In addition fans will be able to resell their tickets through viagogo and, as always, all ticket trades are safe, secure and 100% guaranteed. Viagogo is the Official Premium and Secondary Ticketing Partner of Madonna's Sticky and Sweet Tour in Europe, excluding Germany and Italy.

Initial on-sales for Madonna's upcoming Sticky & Sweet tour are off to a strong start, with weekend sell-outs reported in Paris (Sept. 20), Boston (Oct. 15) and Chicago (Oct. 26), followed by sell-outs in New York this morning.

Performances at Manhattan's Madison Square Garden (Oct. 6-7) quickly went clean, followed by a third show now confirmed for Oct. 11.

The tour will begin Aug. 23 in Cardiff, Wales, and will play arenas and stadiums throughout Europe, including a number of cities where Madonna has not performed in the past 15 years, or ever. The tour begins in North America on Oct. 4 at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, N.J., with most U.S. dates going in sale May 24.

Live Nation Global Touring chairman Arthur Fogel is the worldwide producer of the tour.

The tickets have gone on sale for Madonna's 27-date world tour which kicks off in Cardiff in August.

A tickets agency in the city said there had been a queue of people waiting for their doors to open at 0900 BST.

The head of marketing at the Millennium Stadium said they were "delighted" Madonna was starting her tour there.

Meanwhile all passes for the free Grand Slam Celebration concert in the stadium were snapped up in the first ten minutes.

"As she's starting her world tour here, it's placing a tremendous focus on Cardiff," Gwyn Dolphin from the stadium said.

"This is the second time Madonna has performed here, it shows it's a good venue and a good location."

He expected the concert to be a sell out with around 50,000 attending and Mr Dolphin said having the choice to open or close the roof gave them added flexibility.

Madonna's only other UK date for the Sticky and Sweet tour is in Wembley, London.

Tim Rich managing director from Ticketline UK said: "There sales have been very brisk with people coming through the doors and calling on the phone.

"It's great for Cardiff and south Wales that Madonna's bringing her visual and audio extravaganza here.
