   The beginning of the most amazing career in music. She was so gorgeous and real back then and think of the legendary music, performances and fashions she created in the years that followed. She’s still an amazing entertainer but she was so fresh and new when these pictures were taken & no one had seen anyone like her. We still haven’t because she blazed her own trail while all other female performers have simply copied her to some degree.

       It all depends on how you interpret the words really. Personally I think neither Madonna nor Shardy are jaded. Having said that, there is another side to that word which implies worldliness, love of glamour and less naïve. Just like the word Bit*h, I often interpret that word as positive because for so long, that word has been used to refer to strong no none sense women who like to do it their own way.

    I think she does to her face and body because of one thing. Not money nor fame, but because her Mum died so young and I think that drives Madonna to be strong not just for herself, but for her children never to grow without a Mum in their lives. It may seem silly, but that’s what I think.

    FUCK ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was 25+ freakin’ years ago. Where the fuck has time gone? When these pics were taken, I was 14 years old (Im 39 now). The years of me being raped by my ‘father’ and abused, and still I would listen to Madonna and really piss my ‘father’ off by playing Like A Virgin, knowing I would get another beating. And it would have been worth it. Madonna and A-Ha saved my teens in a way. 25 years on, both Madonna and A-Ha are still going strong……………..and so am I :)

        And back in the day, the US radio stations used to play her music all the time. I hate it that they didn’t give any airtime to her last few albums.

      I think what Madonna did (which was so right at the time) was to dress in a way that us young girls (of the time) could easily copy and adapt. Items you could buy very cheaply at the time from the local market. You needn’t spend loads, just needed a bit of time to get the Madonna look right. And just when you got the blasted look right, she only went and cropped all her bloody hair off for the Who’s That Girl tour (and I wasn’t going to shave off my beautiful red-hair for no body, not even Her Madgesty :) LOL!! ) Fashion was fun, colourful and playful and not as polished as it is now.

      I agree with you Nick. Madonna may not be 25 years anymore, but she is more beautiful now. Her beauty has gained more wisdom, more in-depth. Having said that, I also must add that she hasn’t lost her bad girl/ play girl sexy goddessness one bit. Thank god for that.
