   absolutely stunning….her looks(very ninethies) her attitude….yes i think she was nervous and she admited that to MTV.why she shouldn’t? difficult song,her vocals were very limited that long(and fabulous)gautier dress would make fall anytime.but these are all the reasons why a lot of us love this woman…..she’s not afraid of anything..and if my 8.5 million earing falls and stuck to my hair i just trow it away…FUCK OFF!

   Think this is one of the most intense performaces at the Oscars…the damn sexy stance, the voice, the hands shaking…so natural and breath taking… she delivered such a legendary performance, proving she actually CAN sing and make it hugely and stunningly just by herself…standing all by herself, in front of the cream of Hollywood plus the millions watching live…she expelled sensuality and sexuallity right in everyone’s faces with class…she looked soooooooo hot…the walk, the dancing, the shaking hips, the singing, it all was so great and outrageous without the needing of excesses she had been so close to by then…the shaking hand? means many things…not sure it actually means nervousness…could be an involuntary movement of hands caused by the position of the arms enhanced by the stamina…haters for sure woul go saying “oh MADONNA was a shaking baby!!!”…hello?…I mean, hello!?…was she stumbling?…was she singing like a Foghorn Leghorn?…lol…was she hiding behind Jacko’s legs or behind the curtain?…nope…she was glamourous, damn hot, damn classy and damn great vocally, very emotional and outstanding…then came Evita, another wonderful Vocal performance that won her even a Golden Globe and praise all over…but…does this count to the haters?…nope!…they will always attack her and diss her to try diminish her…thank God she doesn’t give a shit about that!…

    This was in 1991? I thought it was 1990..does anyone know for sure? She was great but I agree with Plop Plop in the fact that it was one of the only times I sensed her nervousness while performing. Nonetheless, she was spectacular…as always..

      You must not have watched her sing “You Must Love Me” at the Oscars a few years later…she was visibly very nervous and her vocals were really off. She looked amazing, though.

    A nerve wracking performance for her fans.
    A below average vocal performance.
    A slightly embarrassing MM impersonation.
    One of the few times I could feel M’s nervousness.
    A moment where M showed how much balls she has.
    A passionate gutsy performance.
    But it was painful to watch.
    EPIC?.no way.

        Great performance, I loved it back then I still love it now. However, I don’t think she’s capable of performing like that anymore.

        Especially the facial expressions. Her face hardly moves now when she sings. And yes, I have seen her perform recently at the Re-Invention and Confessions tours. She’s still good, but in a different way.

    EPIC performance – she brought down the house. I still get chills when I re-watch this on youtube. She definitely puts her heart and soul in to her work but unfortunately some people focus more on who she’s dating or what she’s wearing etc. etc.
