#7 Madonna Ft Justin Timberlake – 4 Minutes (Warner Bros)
Madonna and Guy Ritchie’s marriage is far from in trouble, according to the couple’s friend who insists they’re “having a good time”.
Thandie Newton has defended the pop superstar and her moviemaker husband, describing the couple’s relationship as “all good.” The marriage came under intense scrutiny earlier this month when Ritchie failed to show up at New York’s Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony, where his wife was honoured.
But Newton – who recently worked with Ritchie on new movie RocknRolla – says, “They’re having a good time, as far as I know! I went to their house in the country – it’s lovely. It’s all good! I just saw them the other day – they’re having a great time.
“Oh, he’s (Ritchie’s) lovely! He’s a lovely, lovely, lovely man! Awesome he’s just like – sort of perfect!”

It doesn’t take anywhere close to “4 Minutes” to realize that Madonna is poised to score her first top 10 hit since 2005’s “Hung Up.” The launch single from upcoming “Hard Candy”–her 11th and final studio album for Warner Bros.–co-stars Justin Timberlake, with production props from Timbaland. There’s an awful lot going on in the busy dance track: sing-song verses, insistent foghorns, cowbells, chants of “tick-tock” and “Madonna, Madonna,” and a rap from Timbaland–but the trade-off chorus between Madge and Justin of “We’ve only got four minutes to save the world” is hooky enough unto itself to sell the song. “4” qualifies as an event record between superpowers who not only share equal billing, but sound gangbusters together. Expect instantaneous penetration for this spring break ’08 anthem. – Chuck Taylor

from E Online :
Imagine Madonna going head-to-head with Simon Cowell.
With her new album, Hard Candy, dropping April 29, smack-dab in the middle of AI’s seventh season, I say it’s time for the Queen of Pop to appear on American Idol.
Just look at Jim Carrey. His appearance last week on AI–in an elephant costume, no less–helped his new animated flick, Horton Hears a Who!, blow away the competition. It was the weekend’s top-grossing movie, with a reported $45.1 million in ticket sales.
Are you with me?
Come on, she’s working it already. Her new single with Justin Timberlake, “4 Minutes to Save the World,” debuted yesterday as part of a commercial for Sunsilk hair-care products. The tune, as I was the first to report, will also be heard in the upcoming Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway comedy Get Smart.
Sadly, Madonna’s rep said an AI appearance is unlikely, because “her schedule’s really crazy leading up to the album release.”
Oh well, maybe Timberlake can convince her to do AI together. If Madge could kiss Britney Spears on live television, there’s no telling what she would do with J.T.

Rogers Wireless has inked a deal with Warner Music Canada that will see pop star Madonna’s highly-anticipated new single, 4 Minutes, available exclusively through the Rogers MusicStore.
The song was first released to the radio airwaves yesterday, and will be available for download only through Rogers MusicStore until March 24. Afterwards, Rogers will offer an exclusive ring tune of the track to customers until April 28.
Madonna’s new album, entitled Hard Candy, is scheduled for availability on April 29. 4 Minutes is the first single to be released from the album. Die-hard fans have been anticipating this new album for some time now: Madonna hasn’t released a new record since 2005.
“Rogers Wireless is synonymous with youth and music, offering the latest and hottest in mobile music innovation,” said John Boynton, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Rogers Wireless. “We are very excited to offer our customers privileged access to some of the hottest new music on the planet right from their cell phone.”
The album is a change from Madonna’s typical “pop” style. It’s produced by Timbaland and features Justin Timberlake; both artists that carry more of an R&B/Hip Hope vibe. As for the name, it’s reportedly just a representation of the singer’s love for the sweet stuff.
“It’s about the juxtaposition of tough and sweetness, or as Madonna so eloquently expressed, ‘I’m gonna kick your ass, but it’s going to make you feel good,'” mused Madonna’s publicist Liz Rosenberg.
