Madame Tussauds London gets a new Madonna for Christmass

Madame Tussauds London gets a new Madonna

A brand new wax figure of the Queen of Pop, Madonna, is making its way to Madame Tussauds in London, ready for Christmas.

Famous for her ever changing style, the unique superstar’s newest wax incarnation is inspired by her latest MDNA Tour and will début at the attraction in December. The figure, sculpted by Dave Burks, will show her in a dramatic performance pose, wearing a costume inspired by one of the key looks from the series of concerts.

For a limited time only, guests will be able to see this Madonna in triple, as the new London figure is joined by two other stunning figures destined for the new Madame Tussauds in Tokyo – one showing the songstress in her ‘Like a Virgin’ persona, the other inspired by her 2008 Sticky and Sweet Tour.

Madonna Bites Back at Booing Fans in Her Hometown of Detroit

President Obama may have won the nation’s popular vote by 2.4 percent, but apparently—and perhaps shockingly—those backing the Prez for #2Termz aren’t Madonna fans.

Or at least not the ones living in Detroit and New Orleans.

Madge was booed two Saturdays ago in NOLA when she voiced her support for Obama’s campaign. And just last night in her hometown, she was booed by Motor City fans when she said she was “ecstatically happy” about his reelection, according to the Detroit Free Press. Only this time, the jeering crowd pushed Madonna over the boo-orderline.

“You can boo all you want,” Madonna responded. “But I’ve been to countries around the world where people can’t vote for their leaders.” Taking it all in stride, she then offered this quip to one of her backup dancers: “In the Basque language, ‘boo’ means ‘I love you.'” Yeah, that was probably what they meant, Mr. Burns.

She then went on to try to find some common ground with the crowd, talking about her Detroit roots and how that influences her infamously insane work ethic. “This place made me who I am: A hardworking girl,” she said. “Detroit is having a comeback. I can feel it in my bones. We’re coming back. So watch out.”

Madonna to face trial in Russia for promoting gay rights

A Russian court has ruled that there is sufficient evidence to sue Madonna for promoting gay rights during her ‘MDNA’ tour, according to reports.

In August of this year, it was reported that the singer had enraged some citizens by handing out pink anti-homophobia wristbands to crowd members during a show in St Petersburg and telling them to “fight for the right to be free”. Her stunt was in response to a new regulation adopted in St Petersburg in March of this year, which saw the city’s yearly gay pride parade banned as it promoted “gay lifestyles” and the “propagation of homosexuality” – both of which have now been outlawed.

A lawsuit was subsequently submitted by members of the Union of Russian Citizens, the People’s Assembly and the New Great Russia party against the singer, with a lawyer for the group claiming that her actions caused “psychological stress and emotional shock” amongst the audience.

Now, according to The Times, a court in St Petersburg has given the go-ahead for the £6.5 million lawsuit to continue as the singer “crossed a line” by handing out the bracelets to “children as young as 12”. Madonna did not attend the hearing and is not expected to be present at future court dates relating to the trial, either.

Madonna courted controversy throughout her tour of Russia. Previously, she used the Moscow-leg of the jaunt to express support for the jailed members of Russian punk collective Pussy Riot. In a speech to the 20,000 strong crowd, Madonna said: “I think they have paid the price for this act and I pray for their freedom,” before stripping to her bra to reveal the words ‘Pussy Riot’ written on her back. For ‘Like A Virgin’ she donned a balaclava similar to those worn by the band. She was later dubbed a “moralising slut” by Russian politician Dmitry Rogozin for her comments.

Rihanna wants Madonna Collaboration

Rihanna has revealed that she would love to collaborate with Madonna after hailing the singer as “the s***” during her Facebook Live chat yesterday (8th November).

The ‘We Found Love’ singer admitted that she has always looked up to the 54 year-old star, especially when she was younger.

“You know, Madonna is one of those artists who was very self-expressive, she was bold, she was fearless, and all of those were things I looked up to as a young woman,” she confessed.

The Bajan star revealed that she enjoys being expressive in her own career and takes inspiration from the ‘Give Me All Your Luvin” singer.

“I really just wanted to be myself and feel free to express it and not really be afraid of what people think about it,” she added. “Madonna’s still the s**t, and she’ll always be Madonna. She’s the queen.”

Host of the chat, Andy Cohen, posed the question if she would like to work with Madonna on a song together, to which she replied: “That would be so sick. I would love to. Who knows? Let’s put it in the air.”

During her interview, Rihanna also praised such stars as Beyonce, Nicki Minaj and Lady Gaga and also hit back at reports she was back dating ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.
