Madonna’s ‘date disguises’

Vanilla Ice recalls how he and former flame Madonna disguised themselves on dates.
The 45-year-old rapper says he and the 55-year-old Material Girl share many romantic memories together.
Vanilla recalls how the pair would camouflage themselves on incognito movie dates.
“Like, we would go to movies. We had disguises. I had a moustache and a hat with hair coming down and she would go as an old lady,” he told British newspaper the Sunday People.
“And we would walk in and the bodyguards would [be] like 20ft behind. Y’know, kinda lookin’ just l ke we’re nobody. And just walk in and go and see our movie and just have a good, normal… we’d do dinner that way and nobody would ever recognise us. It was the greatest.”
Although Madonna has been an international sex symbol for decades, Vanilla claims their romance was quite ordinary.
“We had great times. You take away the fame and everything and you got two people who just basically had a normal relationship,” he explained.
“And I wish I could tell you more about it and throw some fireworks in there or something but it was kinda cool.”
Madonna has been dating French dancer Brahim Zaibat since 2011.
Brahim has spoken previously of the challenges he faces as the superstar’s partner.
“Being her boyfriend is a handicap as well as an advantage,” he told Gala France.
“Sometimes, it is difficult to know if people want to see me or her…”

Madonna’s Free Movie Tops 1.2 Mil Downloads via BitTorrent

BitTorrent has largely been synonymous with piracy in Hollywood, but now the peer-to-peer app company is touting the power of its platform to let content creators distribute intellectual property on their own terms to millions of Internet users.

Vice Media teamed with Madonna to release the “Art For Freedom” bundle via BitTorrent on Sept. 24. In less than three weeks, the “Art for Freedom” bundle has been downloaded more than 1.2 million downloads, according to the companies.

The bundle includes the 17-minute film “secretprojectrevolution,” which Madonna co-directed with Steven Klein, along with special bonus features, including an interview with Vice chief creative officer Eddy Moretti.

Vice, encouraged by the Madonna project, now plans to release an upcoming series of BitTorrent Bundles starting in mid-November featuring original video content that will “explore the relationship between open expression and open technology.”

Jennifer Saunders on Madonna

“There’s one more star I need to mention in passing. It would be weird not to. Madonna. She who has adamantly refused to have anything to do with us.
We started asking Madonna to be a guest on the show very early on. Someone knew her publicist, who assured us that she was a big fan.
Marvellous.
We continually mentioned her in sketches and played her quire a few times. We were restrained at first, thinking that, hoping that – one day – she might be our friend (like Rowan Atkinson). After repeated snubs, we realised that our cause was hopelessly, and that, I’m afraid, made us quite cruel.
Madonna, Madonna, Madonna!
Why wouldn’t you come on our show? We aren’t crazies! We don’t want your skin!”
