Sandra Bernhard defends Madonna

Q: Women aren’t always supportive of each other. Cyndi Lauper’s recent criticism of Madonna’s fiery speech at the Women’s March comes to mind.

Sandra Bernhard: Madonna wasn’t being literal, and she didn’t suggest that she wanted to band with terrorists and blow up the White House. She was in the moment and being off the cuff in the way she does. Who f**king cares? She certainly has the right take on it.
You can’t expect Madonna to be Angela Davis or Gloria Steinem. Everybody has their level that they express themselves at, and not everyone’s a great thinker or an intellectual. Obviously, Madonna’s not an idiot. She’s a provocateur in her way, as I am in my way.

Rumour: Tiffany Trump avoids Madonna at Fashion Week

First daughter Tiffany Trump‘s appearance at Fashion Week didn’t go quite to plan — she was dissed by fashion editors and had to leave early to avoid Madonna, an outspoken critic of her father.

Tiffany was a guest at Monday’s Philipp Plein show at the New York Public Library, confirmed at the last minute and was escorted to her front-row seat by Secret Service.

We’re told seats next to her were kept open for Plein’s girlfriend and family.

One overzealous editor saw the empty seats and tweeted, “Seating s–t show at Philipp Plein because no editors want to sit near Tiffany Trump. SHOCKER.”

But observers said the seats next to Tiffany, who was there with her fashion designer friend Andrew Warren, were quickly filled.

Meanwhile, Tiffany was more concerned about avoiding Madonna — who held up the show for an hour because she arrived late and was seated across the room from the president’s daughter.

Madonna gave a controversial speech against the president during the Women’s March in Washington, DC, saying she “thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House.”

Tiffany Trump avoids Madonna

While there was a swanky dinner after the show, which featured performances by Nas and The Kills, Tiffany left immediately after the show in order to avoid the singer.

“She left discreetly before the dinner because Madonna hasn’t been so nice to her and her father,” says the source.
